How can the Redbubble marketplace help to protect my work from infringement?

The Protect your work section in the Artist Dashboard is the next best thing to hiring a bodyguard for the products you sell on Redbubble.

This section provides a couple of helpful features including:

  1. Watermarks - You can add watermarks to your work which we find discourages thieves from screen-shotting and posting your work somewhere else.
  2. Download Protection - Many art bandits steal images by right-clicking and downloading them. When this feature is enabled, it places a transparent image over the top of your works when right-clicked.

For more information on protecting your work, check out these articles on Watermarks  and Download protection.

Your feedback is extremely important to us as we look to improve these protection features. If you have any suggestions, please submit your ideas using the Satisfaction Survey in your Artist Dashboard.

If you believe your rights are being infringed somewhere on the Redbubble marketplace, file a take-down notice so our team can investigate.

Keep in mind that Redbubble takes issues of infringement very seriously and promptly removes allegedly infringing products we find on our marketplace, but we are unfortunately unable to remove products elsewhere on the internet. If a situation like this arises, it's important to contact the website which is hosting the infringing content via their DMCA or equivalent process.

Obligatory Yet Very Important Legal Disclaimer:

Don’t be fooled by any complicated jargon (and how snazzy we look in pinstripe). We are not your lawyer and this is not legal advice. We recommend contacting an attorney if you need an actual legal consultation.

Rather, this is general information aimed at giving you the legal lay of the land. While we can’t defend you in court, we know that art and IP ownership can be murky territory; the least we can do is arm you with the right kind of knowledge to get you started.
