Do I have to pay to have a Redbubble account?

Creating an account and setting up a shop on the Redbubble marketplace is free of charge. All you need to do is sign up and then confirm your account details.

Once your account is set up, it will be classified into one of three tiers:

  • Redbubble Standard: New artists starting to create products while learning how to attract their customers, or artists that are less discerning about product design or consumer appeal.
  • Redbubble Premium: Artists with a personal brand or established follower base creating unique products that incorporate trends in their own art style.
  • Redbubble Pro: Artists in our top-seller program or Artist Ambassador program.

How are account fees calculated?

Standard and Premium accounts are subject to account fees. Our account fees only apply if you make a sale. Track your earnings before account fee deductions on your Sales History page.

Our platform fee is a percentage of your monthly earnings, calculated at the end of every pay period.

Account Tier Platform Fee
Standard 50% of monthly earnings
Premium 20% of monthly earnings
Pro 0% of monthly earnings

Here’s some examples to understand how it works:

Let’s say you are in the Standard tier, and you earn $40 from orders shipped between the first day and the last day of the month. A platform fee of 50% will be deducted, and you will be paid the remaining balance of $20.

Now let’s say you are in the Premium tier, and you earn $25 from orders shipped between the first day and the last day of the month. A platform fee of 20% will be deducted, and you will be paid the remaining balance of $20.

Our excess markup fee applies to product markup above 20% at point of sale. This fee is deducted only from earnings on the additional markup. There is no excess markup fee applied for product markup at or below 20%.

Account Tier Excess Markup Fee
Standard 50% of earnings from markup above 20%
Premium 50% of earnings from markup above 20%
Pro 0% of earnings from markup above 20%

Here’s an example to understand how it works:

Let’s say Classic T-shirts going to the United States have a base price of $20 USD, and you set your product markup to 30%. This means your artist margin before fees is $6. Since the excess markup fee only applies to product sales with a markup above 20%, only your earnings from the additional 10% markup will have a fee deducted. In this example, 10% of $20 is $2. The $2 will have a 50% fee deducted, which is $1. After $1 is deducted from your initial margin of $6, your remaining margin for this sale is $5.

We also apply a fee cap. Your total account fees per month will not exceed $150 / 150€ / £150.

Where can I see what fee I’ll be paying?

Account fees are displayed for each payment on your Payment History page. Click “View Details” next to any payment to see the earnings details associated with it. Your Earnings Details provide a breakdown of excess markup fees, platform fees, and any credit issued for calculated fees that exceed our fee cap for each pay period.

You can also find a record of any account fees assessed in previous pay periods on your Account Tiers and Fees page.
